Modelling basal?cell carcinoma behaviour in avascular skin

چکیده
Malignant neoplasms are one of the most dangerous diseases. Within framework well-established Theory Porous Media (TPM), a multi-constituent model is derived. The mathematically formulated by set coupled partial differential equations which solved within well-known finite-element method. general TPM applied to basal-cell carcinoma in avascular skin and representative numerical examples show capabilities model.

Mathematical modelling of avascular-tumour growth.
A system of nonlinear partial differential equations is proposed as a model for the growth of an avascular-tumour spheroid. The model assumes a continuum of cells in two states, living or dead, and, depending on the concentration of a generic nutrient, the live cells may reproduce (expanding the tumour) or die (causing contraction). These volume changes resulting from cell birth and death gener...
متن کاملSkin carcinoma arising in Leishmania scar: Report of four cases
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) are the most frequent skin cancers. The etiology of these tumors is multifactorial: Environmental and exogenous factors, genotype and phenotype factors. The development of malignant neoplasms at sites of previous dermal scars is an uncommon but well recognized phenomenon, and since almost all of them were developed on exposed areas it...

Background:Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer (NMSC), the most prevalent types being Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) and Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC), is the most common type of malignancy in human beings. These neoplasms are more frequent in the elderly and fair skinned people and mainly occur on sun-exposed sites of the body. Ultraviolet B (UVB) has a wel...
متن کاملCephalopod Behaviour: Skin Flicks
Cephalopods, such as octopus and squid, can change their coloration in an instant, and even produce moving patterns on their skin. A new study describes these wavelike patterns in a colourful tropical cuttlefish, providing insights into the neural mechanisms that generate them.
